He was predeceased by: his parents, Ammie Lee and Norman Oakley Sr.; and his siblings, Betty Jean, Carolyn Oakley and Norman Oakley Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Felicia Jackson of Laurel, Mississippi and Stephen Jackson (Donna) of Omaha, Nebraska; his grandchildren, Miles and Ari Jackson of Omaha, Nebraska.; his siblings, Ann G. Smith of Gulfport, Connie M. Davis Godfrey of Long Beach, Mississippi and Dwight Oakley of Gulfport; his cousin Sharon Tucker of Virginia Beach, Virginia.; and his nieces and nephews, Reginald Godine (Mary), Roosevelt Carson, Timothy Vaughn, Twanda Godine (Chelvis), Erica Newkirk (Howard), Latoya Plummer (Jonathan) and Carlisle Winro (Tory).
A memorial service was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church (15000 Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Gulfport, MS 39501). His faith remained strong, and he actively attended services until the COVID pandemic.
