He was predeceased by : his mother Linda James Cooley; his stepfather Buddy Cooley; and his sister Tammy Smith. He is survived by : his wife Juanita Smith; his children, Russ Smith and Tiffany Clolinger (Michael); his sister Debbie Chandler (Rick); his father David Smith of St. Petersburg, FL; his brothers, Randy Smith (Teresa) of Owensboro, KY and Billy Cooley (Michelle) of Pascagoula, MS; his sister-in-law Krystal Walker; and his grandchildren, Michael, Mason, Maddox and Maverick Clolinger. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the First Pentecostal Church of Orange Grove (11317 Old Hwy 49, Gulfport, MS 39503). A funeral service was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, June 27th 2024 at 2:30 PM.
