He was predeceased by: his parents, James A. Head, Sr. and Helen V. Head of Gulfport; his wife Janie L. Head; his sister Sara "Penny" Head Cobb; and his brother-in-law Charles McReynolds.
He is survived by: his children, Elizabeth Anne Head and James A. Head III; his sister Betty Head McReynolds; and his brother-in-law David L. Cobb. He is also survived by many nephews and nieces he loved.
