She was predeceased by: her husband L. S. Newsome; her parents, Rev. Albert DeFlanders and Alberta Randele (DeFlanders); and her siblings, Verna Lee Stance, Ollie Mae Farmer, Albert DeFlanders, Sr. and Charles DeFlanders.
She is survived by: her daughter RuJonice Anderson (Keith); her grandchildren, Destiny, Amilya Anderson and Jaivon Anderson; her siblings, Maudia Henderson and Rev. James DeFlanders; her brother-in-law Roy Loftin of Gulfport, MS.; and her godchildren, Linda Cowart, Kawenta Harvey, Courtney DeFlanders-Griffin, Brianna Polk and Trinity Polk. She is also survived by relatives and friends.
