It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gene Fleming Sr. (Gulfport, Mississippi), born in Canton, Mississippi, who passed away on August 26, 2018, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his children, Gene Fleming, Jr., Gabriel Fleming and Annie Fleming; and his siblings, Arthur Fleming, Joe Fleming, Raymond Fleming, Oliva Temper, Maggie, Beatrice and Minnie Slaughter.
He is survived by: his wife Emma L. Fleming; his children, Climmer Grayer (Jackie), Alfred Grayer, Melvin Grayer, Bennie Fleming (Marcia), Darrell Fleming, Vernell Fleming (Rashonda), Nickey Fleming, Donnell Fleming, Brenda Westbrook, Sylvia Washington (Derrick) and Lillie B. Fleming; his siblings, Willie Lee, Oliver, Jr., Robert Fleming, Mary Fleming, Carrie Willis and Daisy Willis; and his siblings-in-law, Joseph Grayer, Sr. and Pearlie Johnson. He is also survived by 25 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
