He was predeceased by: his parents, Bert Phelps, Sr. and Elsie B. Phelps; and his siblings, Curmit Phelps, T. W. Phelps, Ethel Brumbaugh and Ola Jane Lewis.
He is survived by: his wife Dorothy C. Phelps; his son Brentley Phelps (Karla); his grandson Landon Phelps; and his sister Gloria Stafford. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
