She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Franklin Calhoun Mathews and Martha Ellen Cribbs Mathews; her husband Aubrey Carter; her son Joe Carter; and her sisters, Bertha Ellen Morgan (Jay W.) and Margurite Dekinder (Phil).

She is survived by: her children, Jan Carter Smith (Mike) of Grenada, Anita Carter Turner (Kenny) of Grenada and Bruce Carter, Sr. (Mary Gay) of Ruston, LA; her grandchildren, Tracy Mitchell (Rob), Bruce Dale Carter, Jr., Tim Turner (Lori), Ken Turner (Memrie), Sean Turner (Taylor) and Mathew Carter; her great grandchildren, Abby Jo Carter, Joey Ruth Turner, Jaxon Turner, Aubrey Turner, Cassidy Turner and Landon Turner; her grandsons, Bruce Dale Carter, Hayes Carter and Matt Carter; and her great grandchildren, Briggs Carter, Reynolds Carter, Aiden Turner and Jax Turner.
