He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Silas Simmons and Ruby Bratton Simmons; and his siblings, Ellen Mitchell, Lloyd Simmons, Jay Simmons and James Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Gloria Ann Collins Simmons; his children, Cindy Wood (Craig) of Brandon, Rob Simmons (Laura) of Navarre, FL and Samuel Simmons (Brooke) of Oxford; his siblings, Ollie Dogan of Grenada, Hazel Harris of Grenada, Linda Jones of Brandon, Betty Osbarn of Charleston, Patricia Lindley of Tillatoba, Gail Williams of Gore Springs and Wayne Simmons of Senatobia; his grandchildren, Hannah Leigh Moses, Jake Bush, Katie Letteri, Taylor Thompson, Robert Simmons, III and Mae Collins Simmons; and his great grandchildren, Nichele Bush, Ainsley Bush, Oliver Letteri and Silas Letteri.
