He was predeceased by: his parents, John Clifton and Mattie Garner (Hillard); and his brothers, John C. Garner, Jr., Hulon Garner, Billy Sam Garner and Mickey Garner.
He is survived by: his sisters, Mattie P. Reid, Daphne Grimes, Hortense Garner and Geraldine McKinney; his children, John Garner (Jo) of Grenada, MS., Patricia Ann Gates of Corinth, MS and Donna Kay Quinn of South Bend, IN.; his sister Beverly Able of Boca Raton; and his grandchildren, Logan Gates, Jonathan Garner, Will Gates, Matthew Garner and Ayden Quinn.
