It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rex Chandler of Grenada, Mississippi, who passed away on February 23, 2025, at the age of 81, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Rex had on those he encountered along his journey. Though Rex may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, his essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Alvin Francis Chandler and Edith Sykes Chandler of Calhoun City; his wife Susie of Grenada; and his brother Jessie Chandler of Lobelville, TN.. He is survived by: his son Mike Chandler (Pam) of Oxford; his siblings, Carolyn Valent of Hermitage, TN and Curtis Chandler of Shelbyville, KY; and his grandchildren, Mallory Chandler McCormack (Cody) of Huntsville, AL and Phillip Chandler.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the McKibben & Guinn Funeral Service (4817 Commerce St, Grenada, MS 38901). A graveside service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Grenada Memorial Garden (194 Old Hardy Rd, Grenada, MS 38901).
