He was predeceased by: his parents, James Clarence "Foots" Griffin and Joyce Lee Hodge Griffin; and his brother James Newton Griffin. He is survived by: his children, Stephanie Griffin Spillman (Tony) of Bogue Chitto, MS, Katina Griffin Thomas of Vicksburg, MS, Elisha Coker (Joseph) of Laurel, MS and Richard Cook Jr. of West Monroe, LA; his siblings, Dorothy Marie Vinson of Shreveport, LA and Robert Griffin of Victoria, MS; his grandchildren, Mary Hayes, Jazmine Cook of Abigail Cook, J. J, Thomas, Logan Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Renae Dixon (James), Braileigh Elee (Josh) and Jack Ryan Elee; and his close friend Diane Pigg of Grenada, MS. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
