He was predeceased by: his parents, John Gus and Elvie Barton Putman; his wife Virginia Putman; and his brothers, Dr. B. H. Putman and James Gerald Putman.
He is survived by: his children, Carol Hecker (Larry) of Grenada and John Putman of Ripley; his sisters, Frances Byars of Birmingham, AL and Glenda Lantrip (Bobby) of Oxford; his grandson Joseph Putman (Shirika) of Olive Branch; and his great grandchildren, Jacob Putman of Mandeville, LA and Logan Putman of Olive Branch. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
