He was predeceased by: his parents, James William and Annie Pauline Vance Brown; his wife Cynthia Brown; his stepfather Cecil Grantham; and his brother Billy Brown.
He is survived by: his children, Lisa Stevenson of Vicksburg, Penny Hill of Grenada and Jimmy Brown of Ocean Springs; and his siblings, Julia Riley of Holcomb, Mary Mann of Doddsville, Ann Cobb of Greenville, Judy Brown of Ocean Springs, Carl Brown of Easley, SC and James Brown of Panama City, FL. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren.
