We are sad to announce that on October 11, 2021, at the age of 89, Janie Ashley of Grenada, Mississippi, born in Utica, Mississippi passed away. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Janie Ashley to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Eugene and Mary Louise Jones Thornton; and her brother Percy Eugene Thornton. She is survived by: her husband John Ashley; her children, Pamela Anne Ashley Chandler (Mike) of Grenada, Donald Ray Ashley, Sr. (Brenda) of Jasper, AL and Jon Stephen Ashley (Pat) of Oxford; and her grandchildren, Phillip Michael Chandler, Donald Ray Ashley, Jr., John Thornton Ashley, Amanda Leigh Ashley, Stephanie Elizabeth Ashley and Mallory Magen Chandler McCormack.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Music Ministry at First United Methodist Church – Grenada or to the Grenada Soup Kitchen.
