It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Herman Meek Caldwell of Grenada, Mississippi, born in Batesville, Mississippi, who passed away on July 15, 2020, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He is survived by: his brother Charlie; his wife Bettye Dyre Caldwell; his children, Elizabeth Dyre Caldwell of Tuscaloosa, Alabama and Herman Mallory Caldwell; his daughter-in-law Tara Tinsley Caldwell; his grandsons, Henry Dyre Caldwell of Houston, Texas and George Tinsley Caldwell of Houston, Texas; and his sister Bettie Caldwell Graham of New Orleans, Louisiana. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and extended family.
Although COVID-19 will keep us (for now) from throwing the party that Herman envisioned, the family's request is that those who knew Herman please raise a glass, do a jig in the kitchen and join us in a toast – to live and laugh and love as Herman did.
The family is having a private interment at the All Saints Episcopal Church columbarium and has requested that any memorial donations be given to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America or a charity of your choosing.
