He was predeceased by: his father Pete Melton; and his sister Frances Pearl Melton. He is survived by: his mother Marjorie Mae Tartt Melton of Grenada; his wife Peggy Melton; and his children, Kay Starnes (Daley) of Corinth, Judy Armstrong (Michael) of Columbus, Lois Doss of Chicago, IL, Magan Emrick (Russell) of Grenada, Casandra Kennedy of Grenada, Jada Glenn (Tate) of Gore Springs, Ellen Jackson of Grenada, Jerry Glen Melton (Kim) of Coldwater and James Alton Kennedy of Grenada. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
