It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley Curtis (Greenwood, Mississippi), born in McCarley, Mississippi, who passed away on August 21, 2019, at the age of 83, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Chambley and Dorence Chambley; and her brother Virgil Chambley. She is survived by: her husband Bill Curtis; her sister Mary Elizabeth Corley of McCarley; her daughter Lisa Cookston (Steven); and her grandchildren, Lucy and Cavitt Cookston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews whom she loved like her own children.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Palmer Home for Children in Columbus, MS, and the Leflore County Humane Society.
