He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Henry Swanzy Sr. and Lula Swanzy (Pickett); his wife Nancy Jo; his sisters, Pickett Lea, Floyce Rule Hathcock "Baby Sister", Marsh Marie Chenault and Millie Longtain (Mildred); and his son Brad Swanzy.

He is survived by: his daughters, Karen and Allyn Swanzy; and his grandchildren, Jerrod Barner, Wesley Hunt and Rachel Hunt. He is also survived by great-grandchildren, and beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews.
