He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward W. Ray and Robbie Carver Ray; his former wife Debra Ray; his sister Becky Ray Kunz; and his brother-in-law Lester Kunz.

He is survived by: his wife Evelyn Christopher Ray; his son Marty Ray of Grenada; his brother Ron Ray (Helen) of Gustine, TX; and his stepchildren, Amy Ries (Derick) of Rocklin, CA, Richard Ashley of California, Barrett Johnson (Angie) of Berlin, NH and Morgan Rushofsky (Paul) of Boerne, TX. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Delta Streets Academy in Greenwood.
