With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Johnnie Gertrude Mascagni of Greenville, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on March 31, 2025 at the age of 80. She was predeceased by: her parents, Johnny Strain and Lorene Strain Maxwell. She is survived by: her husband Jimmy Mascagni; her children, Sharyl Mascagni, Lori Muncher (Glenn), Reece Mascagni (Traci) and Rita Joseph (Derek); and her siblings, JT Woods, JD Red Pierce, Inez McPhail and Jean Downs. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and countless friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM. A burial was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Belzoni Cemetery. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, April 2nd 2025 at the Mortimer Funeral Home (711 US-82, Greenville, MS 38701).
We ask that in lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, an organization that Johnnie deeply cared about.
