He was predeceased by: his parents, James Sutherland and Faye Hyde Sutherland; and his grandparents, Charles, Ella Jane Hyde, John and Daynie Sutherland.
He is survived by: his wife Susan Wood Sutherland; his daughter Daynie Sherrie Sutherland; his stepdaughter Laura Torrance Castanza; and his sisters, Jane Sutherland Smith (Robert Allen Smith) and Sondra Sutherland Holman (late William Henry Holman, Jr.).
In honor of Jimmy's legacy of kindness and generosity, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to St. James Episcopal Day School in Greenville, Mississippi.
