He was predeceased by: his parents, Byrd Sr. Sorrells and Gertrude Huffman Sorrells; and his sister Lila Maude Sorrells. He is survived by: his wife Gloria Sorrells; his children, Lila Hood (Bill) of Greenville, Anne Ellis (Jay) of Brandon, MS, Leslie Robinson (Gary) of Shaw, MS and Steve Sorrells (Cindy) of Charlotte, NC.; his grandchildren, David Sorrells, Bill Hood (Jera), Rob Hood (Anna), Kyle Hood (Rachael), Anne Marie Martin (Jeremiah), Sydney McClendon (Ron) and Shelby Milligan (Gavin); and his great grandchildren, Dane Hood, Eliza Hood, Rob Hood, Mae Hood, Makayla Martin, Maci Martin, Miley Martin, Lilli Beth McClendon and Aly McClendon.
