He was predeceased by: his parents, Braxton Clanton and Ruth Beck Clanton; and his siblings, Larry Clanton, Ronnie Clanton and Cheryl Clanton.

He is survived by: his daughters, Kristin Clanton and Rene Brown of Southaven, MS; his grandson Cash Campbell; his cousin Mickey Trussell; and his nieces and nephews, Melvin Clanton, Benjamin Clanton, Angela Clanton and Jennifer Long.

“So sorry to hear about Steve. We were first cousins, and I remember visiting them on numerous occasions when we were young. Aunt Ruth was my mother's younger sister. Since I was a girl and a little older, I didn't really play with him and his brothers, but my younger brother did. After I graduated from high school, I moved away from Webster County and I haven't seen him in many years except for briefly at Jack Knight's funeral several years ago. So sorry for your loss.
