He is survived by: his son Gaylon Lee Sterling; his stepchildren, Hunter Lofton and Anna Lofton Mitchell of Amite County, MS.; his stepgranddaughter Evelyn Mitchell; his siblings, Jerald "Jerry" Sterling of Tullos, LA., Virgil Stanley "Stan" Sterling of Centreville, MS., Roger Dale Sterling (Christine) of Gloster, MS., Harold Gene "Coon" Sterling (Janice) of Smithdale, MS. and Sherry Honea (Archie) of Gloster, MS.; and his close friends, Cecil and Ladonna Etheridge. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
