He was predeceased by: his wife Judy Petty; his parents, Opal Davis Petty and Howard Petty; his brother Randal Petty; his sons, Ronny D. Petty Jr. and Dwayne Petty; and his sisters, Wilber Mitchell (Dorothy) and Mabel Smith.
He is survived by: his children, Laurie Flora of Dresden, TN and Johnny Petty of Davenport, IA; and his brothers, James H. Petty of Troy, TN and John E. Petty of Troy, TN. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and many other family and friends.
