He was loved and cherished by many people including: his close friend Sulymary Rolon-Rivera; his parents, Rosa Bonilla Martinez of Puerto Rico and Jamie Rodriguez of New Jersey; his siblings, Jamie Rodriguez-Bonilla of Florida, Josue Rodriguez-Bonilla of Ohio, Vanessa Rodiguez of Puerto Rico and Rosani Melendez of Puerto Rico; and also, Jahel Rodriguez of Gautier, MS, Aleczer Rodriguez of Gautier, MS and Luis Rodriguez of Gautier, MS.

Due to the current pandemic, a private service will be held for the family before Joel is returned to his native Puerto Rico.
