He was predeceased by: his parents, Garland Steadman and Nannie Beth Steadman; his son Matthew Caperton Steadman (Trinity); and his siblings, Bobby Steadman, Jr. (Betty Ann) and Beth Steadman Meador.
He is survived by: his fiancée Eleanor Robin Turnipseed Baran; his children, James Webb Steadman, Jr. (Yvonne), Harriet Leland Steadman Wiley (Jerry), Charles Thomas Steadman (Maritza) and Mary Virginia Steadman Dantone (David); his grandchildren, Ben Webb Steadman, James Walker Steadman, Genna Steadman Casey, Sam, Rosemary Dantone and Eve Tyler Steadman; and his great grandchildren, Kathy, Annemarie, Webb Paul and River Casey.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be sent in his name to Saint Pierre's Episcopal Church.
