He was predeceased by: his parents, James Albert Steele and Jimmie Marie Sanders Steele; and his wife Beatrice Steele. He is survived by: his children, Judy Evans (Jerry) of Tremont, James Carl Steele (Suzanne) of Biloxi, MS and Samuel David Steele (Dusty) of Fulton; and his siblings, Flint Steele (Christine), Barbara Jean House and Kathleen Davis. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild, several step-grandchildren and step-great grandchildren.
