He was predeceased by: his parents, Ira Green Thornton and Narcie Franks Thornton; his wife Alice Sue Thornton; and his siblings, Bon Gene Thornton of Ray, Vadrel Thornton, Ella Quay Rogers and Beatrice Taylor.
He is survived by: his sons, Greg Thornton (Denise) of Fulton, Tony Thornton (Michelle) of Cherokee, AL and Brian Thornton of Fulton; his sister Betty Umphers; and his brother-in-law Joe Maze (Diane) of Corinth. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Sandy Springs Baptist Church.
