She was predeceased by: her parents, Albert Barrett and Opal Jacobs Barrett; her grandson Nathan Mayhall; and her sister Barbara Raper. She is survived by: her husband J. C. Thompson; her children, Melissa Smith (Richard) of Aberdeen, Susan Brasfield (Ricky) of Amory and Chad Thompson of Aberdeen; her siblings, Clytee Raper, Steve Barrett (Mary), Loyd "Butch" Barrett (Linda) of Aberdeen and Paul "Balem" Barrett (Carolyn) of Becker; her grandchildren, Eric Wylie (Alicia), Christy Sorrells (David), Brandon Smith (Kristi) and Brad Smith (Halie); her great grandchildren, Raeleigh, Ethan Sorrells, Hayden, Abbye Smith, John Richard "Peanut" Smith and Easton Wylie; and her close friends, Roger, Donna Colburn, Doug and Etta Saget. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
