He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernest Phelps and Zellie Phelps; and his siblings, Billy Phelps, Edgar Phelps, Earl Phelps, Rosalee Mote, Dorothy Ready, Rena Mae Dreeszen, Patricia Jasper and Carolyn Brown.
He is survived by: his wife Faye Davis Phelps; his children, Melissa Bennett (Nathan), Robert "Robbie" Phelps, Jr. (Lana) and Greg Phelps (Kayla); his brother Obie Phelps (Brenda); and his grandchildren, Justin Bennett (Shanna), Ryder Phelps, Amos Neal, Kaitlin Burrell (Allen), Addison Phelps, Sydney Phelps and Chloe Phelps. He is also survived by five Great Grandchildren.
