He was predeceased by: his parents, Columbus and Doris Shepherd; and his siblings, Brenda Pearson, Allen Shepherd and Kenneth Shepherd.

He is survived by: his wife Karen Shepherd; his children, Kerrie Beach (Billy Beach), April Shepherd (Bryan Moore), Laura Shepherd (Dale Bruce), Allen Shepherd and Patrick Shepherd (Natasha Martinez); and his sisters, Sharon Shepherd, Rita Beasley, Kathy Shepherd, Janice Stivers and Sandra Bracey. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, numerous cousins, extended family and friends.
