He was predeceased by: his parents, Eli Harper and Thomas Barnett; his brother John Henry Harper; his daughter-in-law Renee; and also Pearl Barnett.

He is survived by: his wife Earline Harper; his sons, Benton Ray Harper, Harold Harper, Stanley Harper and Steve Harper (Angela); his brothers, Jerry Harper and Jim Harper; and his granddaughters, Amanda Bolin, Amberly Sanders, Christy Dickerson, Cindy Harper, Stephanie Harper, Kelsey Cleland, Samantha Harper, Alicia Herrington and Allison Spiers. He is also survived by one great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter.
