He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Louella Ball Magee; his children, Selarstean Mitchell (Lee), Daniel Magee, Jr. (Pauline), Bobby Magee (Winnie), Patricia Fears (Nate), Joyce Smith (James) and Calvin Magee (Rose); and his siblings, Ora Jean Young and Lenzie Alford (Bobbie). He was also cherished by other relatives and friends.
