He was predeceased by: his parents, Clarence Ward and Stella Ward; his siblings, Willford Ward, Tommie Jean Holmes, Faye Ward and Cathy Ward; and his wife Shirley Ward.

He is survived by: his daughters, Elizabeth King (Timothy), Ginger Hayward and Sabrina Ward; his granddaughter Emily King; and his siblings-in-law, Kay Terrell, Pearlene Stringer, Janice Lynn and Randy Terrell. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephew.
