It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Thornton of Forest, Mississippi, born in Raleigh, Mississippi, who passed away on December 4, 2021, at the age of 94, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Steve Thornton and Mattie Thornton; and his daughters, Cathy Miller and Deborah Gallant. He is survived by: his wife Lillian Batte Thornton; his children, Theresa Richardson (Russell "Rusty") and David Thornton; his son-in-law William "Billy" Miller; his grandchildren, Melanie Korniotatkis, Ronald "Ronny" Richardson (Meghan), Randall "Randy" Richardson (Marcella), Sarah Harden (Dan) and Delaney Thornton; his great grandchildren, Lillian "Lila" Richardson, Barrett Richardson and Rowan Richardson; and his siblings, Nathan Dale Thornton and Ruby Gaye McNeil (Vinson). He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
