She was predeceased by: her parents, Carrie Slaughter and Ernest Sr.; and her siblings, Ernest Jr. (Ethel), Webster (Maryjean), Dorothy (Fletcher), Marie (Harold), Elijah (Jesse), Katherine (Levi) and Ernest (Hazel).

She is survived by: her husband Alonzo Slaughter.

In addition she did charity work at the Children's Hospital.
