She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen Jones and Floyd Jones; and her son Peter James Cassidy. She is survived by: her husband James H. Taylor; her children, Kimberly Cassidy Shearer, Beau Michael Cassidy and Robin Elaine Jewell; her sister Patricia Ann Hilkert; her nephew Christopher A. Hilkert; and her grandchildren, Austin T. Shearer, Cameron W. Shearer, Cassidy R. Shearer, Charleigh Cassidy and Bexleigh Cassidy.
A celebration of life was held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Lakewood Memorial Park (6000 Clinton Blvd, Jackson, MS 39209).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a local chapter of the ASPCA, honoring Joan's lifelong dedication to all pets in need.
