With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Gilbert Thomas in Flowood, Mississippi, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 22, 2025 at the age of 91. She was predeceased by: her husband Milton Richard Thomas; her daughters, Nancy Thomas and Sandra Thomas Friend; her parents, Otis E. Gilbert and Lillian McCaskill Gilbert; her siblings, Charlotte Pierce, Otis "Buster" Gilbert Jr. and Elmer Lee Gilbert; and her grandson Christopher Haines.
She is survived by: her daughters, Vicki (Blake Morgan) and Lisa (Mike Cumpton); her grandchildren, Angela (John Gregson), Stacy (Cam Aureswolt), Michael Paul (Lyndsay Cumpton), Mary Lauren Cumpton (Sean Tillis), Travis (Tiffany Friend), Tessie Hall Massey (Logan Massey) and Joshua (Ashley Burt); and her great grandchildren, Zoey Cumpton, Waylon Cumpton, Ella Aureswolt, Charlie Gregson, Kayden Friend, Emma Friend and Sadie Massey.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Pinelake Church (6071 MS-25, Brandon, MS 39047).
