We bid farewell to Alison Lyell of Flowood, Mississippi, born in Jackson, Mississippi, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on November 1, 2024 at the age of 84. Alison touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, Warren Denkmann Reimers and Lorna Margaret Anderson Reimers; and her grandmother Fay. She is survived by: her friend Jo Brown of New Iberia, LA.; her husband Louis James Lyell; her friends, Walter and Mimi Sistrunk; her godchildren, Avery Jenkins, Carter Watters, Jack Freeman, Rebekah McKeown Sanders, Melanie Koch and Douglass McLaurin; her daughters, Lorna Margaret Lyell Chain (Tom) and Louise Hallam Lyell Lampton (Luke); her grandchildren, Crawford Denkmann Lampton, Alison Ross Chain, Garland Dudley Lampton and John Lyell Chain; her siblings, Fred Reimers (Margie), John Reimers (Trisha) and Margaret Reimers Graves; and her caregivers, Dianne Jones, Kenny Jones, Ieshia Hardin, Vicky Shirley, Distany Rattler and Angela Davis. She is also survived by many nephews and nieces.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 5th 2024 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 10:00 AM. A memorial service was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at 10:30 AM at the St. Stephen's Anglican Church (5049 Lakeland Dr, Flowood, MS 39232). A burial was held on Wednesday, November 6th 2024 at the Greenwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Andrew's Observatory Endowment Fund, St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, and St. Stephen's Anglican Church.
