He was predeceased by: his parents, Emery Alvie and Mable Davis Mitchell; and his wife Janie Barker Mitchell. He is survived by: his children, Vickie Lynn Risher (Bobby) of Terry and James "Jay" Mitchell (Barbara) of Florence; his grandchildren, Rob Risher (Cindy), Rick Risher (Casey) and Jamie Craft; his great grandchildren, Annie Risher and Thea Risher; and his siblings, Emma Nell Jordan of Vardaman, MS, Joyce Sue Odom of Big Creek, MS, Sandra Tedder of Vardaman, MS and Jerry Mitchell of Bruce, MS.
