He is survived by: his brother Noah Payne (Mary); and his children, Herman Payne, Jr, Mary Hall, Linda Jones, Joann Ashwood, Charlene Terrell (Bill), Sandra Mitchell (Nick) and Rickey Thomas (Brenda). He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
