He is survived by: his mother Bonnie McGivney Howell; his wife Joyce McGivney of Ethel; his stepchildren, Leonard Beard of Carthage, MS, Wiley Beard (Emily) of Kosciusko and Jody Jolly of Ethel; his grandchildren, Dylan Boatman, Aryen Albert and Michael Albert; and his siblings, Janet McGivney (Bob) of Illinois, Mary Taylor (Kevin) of Aberdeen, MS, Bonnie Sue Ferrari (Mike) of Apex, NC, Linda Battles of Texas and Richard "Ricky" McGivney (Shannon) of Ethel. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
