He was predeceased by: his parents, Jim Stewart and Emma Stewart of Ethel, MS.; his siblings-in-law, Clarence Merritt of Davenport, IA, Willie Lattimore, James Alston, Grady Alston, Lena Alston and Carr Merritt; his grandsons, DeMarcus Merritt and Kajaun Atterberry; and his father-in-law Clarence Merritt.
He is survived by: his wife Malissa Stewart of Ethel, MS; his children, Ruby Zollicoffer (Ricky) of Ethel, MS, Brenda Robinson (Charles) of Ethel, MS, Christopher Stewart (Leslie) of Sallis, MS, Byron Stewart (Erica) of Ethel, MS and Aris Stewart of Ethel, MS; his brother Arthur Stewart (Linda) of Greenville, TX; his mother-in-law Leana Pearl Merritt of Ethel, MS; and his siblings-in-law, Janice Lattimore of Ethel, MS, Dora Merritt of Ethel, MS, Doris Stribling (Mark) of Weir, MS, Emma Merritt of Weir, MS and Dwight Merritt (Nell). He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
