He was predeceased by: his wife Edith Crosby Childs; his parents, Arthur Childs and Lena Childs of Weir, MS; and his sister Peggy Burton. He is survived by: his son Thomas Childs; his grandson Griffin Childs of Weddington, NC; his nephew Ritchie Burton of Pontotoc; and his niece Susan Burton.
