He was predeceased by: his former wife Linda Kay Powell; his parents, Earl Powell and Marie Powell; and his siblings, Earl Powell Jr. and Mary Edna Boyette.
He is survived by: his wife Ouida Powell; his children, Walter Powell Jr. and Lisa Marie Duncan (Steve); his grandchildren, Samantha Powell, Kaleigh Weems, Alyssa Storey and Chap Duncan; and his sisters, Polly Moore and Josephine Brewer. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
