He is survived by: his wife Brenda "JJ" Chandler; and his children, Matthew Chandler, Delores Chandler, Toye Knight, Melissa Ricord and Cynthia Turner. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
