He was predeceased by: his parents, Sidney Hester and Leona Hester; his daughter Tammye Hitt; and his siblings, Dennis Hester, James D. Hester and Deborah Moss.
He is survived by: his wife Ouida Hester; his children, Delayne Hester (Tonya), Keith Hester (Terry), Brante Hester (Leslie) and Brande Medved (Martin); his stepchildren, Kim Evans (Aaron) and Brian Floyd (Emma); his grandchildren, Seth Hester (Malorie), Taylor Hester, Madelyn Hester, Mandy Dillard (Grant), Philip Medved, Adrian Medved and Emelia Medved; his stepgrandchildren, Lauren Burch and Alexis Evans; his great grandchildren, Wes Hester and Lydia Hester; and his sister Mary Thompson. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
