He was predeceased by: his wife Merle Dobson Richards; his parents, Wootson Richards and Mary Estelle Gladney Richards; and his siblings, Aubey, Paul Richards, Edna Duke, Flora Mae McDonald and Cindy Moore Richards.
He is survived by: his son Perry Richards (Donna) of Crystal Springs; his grandchildren, Nicholas Richards (Joanna) of Petal, Adam Richards (Katy) of Florence, Land Smathers (Haley) of Aberdeen, Anna Bea Rogers (Wes) of Aberdeen, Carson Flumm of Crystal Springs and Pearl Judah; and his great grandchildren, Audrey, Megan, Abby Grace, Rivers, John Luke and Lucy.
