He was predeceased by: his parents, Nathan Potter and Seany Phillips Potter; his siblings, Nathan Potter, Jr., Nathalian Potter Galloway and Grey Potter Carr; and his stepsisters, Jean Faircloth Coker and Ramona Gurley Matthews.
He is survived by: his wife Vera Beech Potter (Nell); his son Donald Potter (Nancy); his grandsons, Arnold Potter (Jaynlee) and Joseph Potter (Kim Marie); his siblings, Hilda Smith (Lloyd) of Wilmington, NC, Frances Potter of Columbia, SC and Gayle Potter (Linda) of Goldsboro, NC; and his stepsister Lillie Best of Goldsboro, NC.. He is also survived by four great grandchildren.
